A sporty team of RD:IR employees took part in the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge yesterday to raise money & awareness for our chosen charity for the year, Alzheimer’s Society.
The Corporate Challenge takes place every year in Battersea Park, and this year’s 3.5-mile course was made especially gruelling thanks to the current heatwave the UK is enjoying. Very pleasant for strolling round parks; not so pleasant for running.
Over 10,000 runners took part, with the overall winner getting round the course in a lightning 17:07. Amy A’Court led the pack for RD:IR, crossing the finish line in a very respectable time of 25:53. We at RD:IR are hugely proud of all runners, and they each enjoyed a well-deserved drink to rehydrate & relax. Well done to all!
Just as importantly as running the challenge, our runners did a superb job or raising money for Alzheimer’s Society, smashing through our target. Every penny raised for the charity will be spent on researching all forms of dementia and helping those affected. A truly worthwhile cause. There is still time to donate: please click here to do so. Thank you very much.
