Team RD:IR last night took part in the annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Battersea Park, London, along with 15,000 runners. J.P. Morgan had teamed up with Alzheimer’s Society, making a donation to the charity, and RD:IR was raising money for our charity of the year, Lymphoma Action.
The weather stayed warm for the evening, and with the sun beating down the runners set off just before 7pm. David Bissell must’ve attached wheels to his feet, flying round the course and crossing the finish line in a speedy 21:10 to push RD:IR up the rankings and take the company record. Likewise, very strong performances were put in by the rest of the team: Jason Poyntz, Erin McCrossan, Izabella Uko-Eninn, Morten Buus, Samantha Erwood and Thomas O’Grady. The runners were swiftly met by RD:IR supporters who came down to cheer the team on, and recovery drinks were the order of the day.
While the evening was good fun, it was of course in aid of a very worthy cause championed by Lymphoma Action. The charity are the only UK charity to focus on lymphoma, the fifth most common cancer. They provide in-depth, expert information to help thousands of people affected by lymphoma. After a colleague was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma last year, this is a cause very close to our hearts. More can be read about the charity by clicking here.
There is still time to donate to Lymphoma Action and support Team RD:IR – please do so by clicking this link.
A fantastic effort by all runners and a big thank you to all supporters!
